Bronze statues of “Captain Tsubasa” in Yotsugi and Tateishi | TOKYO JAPAN

Bronze statues of "Captain Tsubasa" in Yotsugi and Tateishi | TOKYO JAPAN

Do you know that the statue of the character appearing in the football cartoon “Captain Tsubasa” appears in Yotsugi and Tateishi of the Katsushika Ward?
There are 8 bronze statues of popular characters such as Hyuga and Misaki as well as Tsubasa and they are set here and there.

I took a walk and tried around the statue one by one.

Yotsugi is almost local and I’m living in Tateishi, so I could easily go around, but I felt it difficult for those without an intuition, so I tried making a simple recommended course map using Google Map .
You can also explore the local places of Yotsugi and Tateishi, so why not try walking around.

Why are there statues of Captain Tsubasa in the Katsushika ward?

Popular football cartoon “Captain Tsubasa”.
It is a world football manga popular not only in Japan but also overseas.

Well, why the bronze statue of such cartoon characters seems to be in the Katsushika Ward, but it seems to be heard, but in fact the professor Yoichi Takahashi who is the author of Captain Tsubasa is related to Katsushika ward.
He’s from the Yotsugi and graduating from Minami Katsushika High School of Tateishi.

The first “Tsubasa Ozora Bronze Statue” was set up in 2013.
In 2014, statues of 7 characters were set up.

Since Yotsugi and Tateishi are almost places to call as local, suddenly “Captain Tsubasa” began to appear in town, so I was surprised at the beginning.

I will write about the captain wing bronze statue with the thought that more visitors should increase.

Recommended Course Map of Captain Tsubasa Bronze Statue

I tried to map a recommended course using Google Maps.

As a route, we depart from Yotsugi station and go round the statue to Tateishi station.
Although I can start from Tateishi station, I think that it is better to end the Tateishi if you drop by at the store on the way home. Because there are few shops around Yotsugi station…

The order of the bronze statues to go around is the below.

  • Ryo Ishizaki statue
  • Kojiro Hyuga statue
  • Tsubasa Ozora statue (Yotsugi)
  • Roberto Hongo and Tsubasa Ozora statue
  • Sanae Nakazawa statue
  • Taro Misaki statue
  • Tsubasa Ozora statue (Tateishi)
  • Genzo Wakabayashi statue

The time taken for a tour of the statue is about 30 minutes if it only goes around without getting lost, but if it is normal it would be better to see it for about an hour.
Now, I will introduce each statue one by one.

Ryo Ishizaki statue

You can find “Ryo Ishizaki statue” in “Yotsugi Station pocket park”.
Turn right the exit of Yotsugi Station, then proceeds along the line bends to the left.

Ishizaki is guts full of play impressive character, such as speaking “face block”.
The statue has guts pose even.

Kojiro Hyuga statue

“Kojiro Hyuga statue” is located in the residential area near Yotsugi station “Yotsugi Park”.

Tsubasa’s rival, Kojiro Hyuga.
There is a memory that was popular when copying sleeves to the shoulder, imitating Hyuga-kun, when I was in elementary school. Neo Tiger shot is awesome.

Tsubasa Ozora statue (Yotsugi)

“Tsubasa Ozora statue” is located in the Yotsugi Tsubasa park that located 3 to 4 minutes on foot from Yotsugi Station.

There are two Tsubasa bronze statues, but this is the first bronze statue to be memorable set in 2013.

Roberto Hongo and Tsubasa Ozora statue

“Roberto Hongo and Tsubasa Ozora statue” which is located in “Mekada no komichi” where this is a bit confusing in terms of place.

Please refer to the above map for the location.

Sanae Nakazawa statue

“Sanae Nakazawa statue” is located in front of “Katsushika post office”.
It is the last statue of the Yotsugi area.

Sanae Nakazawa wears the uniform of the cheering team.
At first it was a way of being depressed as a unrequited love for Tsubasa, but eventually she married Tsubasa-kun.

Taro Misaki statue

From here it is the Tateishi area.
“Taro Misaki statue” is located in “Shibue Park”.

The most popular character in the characters appearing on Captain Tsubasa.
The Golden Combination with Tsubasa was impressive, and the twin shoots released by the two people were those that the soccer boys at that time imitated once.

Tsubasa Ozora statue (Tateishi)

This is “Tsubasa Ozora statue (Tateishi)” located in “Tateishi 1Chome Park” near Tateishi Station.

It is a bronze statue that cut off the moment of heel lift.

Genzo Wakabayashi statue

“Genzo Wakabayashi statue” is located in “Tateishi Michi Hiroba” about 3 to 4 minutes on foot from Tateishi Station.

Wakabayashi has the best ability among the goalkeepers that appear in the Captain Tsubasa.
The area around where the goal nets are painted is innovative.

Summary

After going around Wakabayashi, I recommend returning to the area around Tateishi station for meals (or drinks), which is a recommended course.

When I do a tour of the statue like this, I will want to reread the original comic again.

I think that it would be better for overseas fans to visit more than this statue as a trigger. It will also be a revitalization of the town.
